Blog Post #10

1. In order for students to be successful and have the most potential and success, it is important that teachers are up to date with technological, environmental, and social developments. Our world and society change quickly and the students we teach are the future generation. I believe it is important for teachers to take courses or attend seminars every year to make sure they are teaching the most up to date standards and are given all of the resources in order to provide the most innovative educational experience to their students.

The website I have attached is called Ed Tech Teacher. I believe this website provides many great sources, resources, events, articles, etc. for teachers to benefit from. I encourage you all to take a look and let me know if you think it is helpful and if you could see yourself using this in the future.

2. I learned a lot from both PowerPoint assignments. PowerPoint one involved using many of the skills I already had, but I did have to learn how to input a voice recording in order to teach the lesson. The non-linear interactive PowerPoint took a lot of learning to complete. I had completed a version of the assignment and then realized I did it completely wrong. I watched multiple videos that definitely helped me to better understand the incorporation of a hyperlink. By time I learned how to correctly do the assignment, I loved the process and my final outcome. I am very proud of my work and am excited to use my new skills in my future career.

3. I thought the concept of looking at a summary of all of my classmate’s differences and their own personal feeling towards the questions we all had to answer was very unique. I learned a lot more about many technologies, software’s, and standards. In most classes, you never get the chance to go back and look at how much you have grown over a semester of how your professor has interprets your descriptions.

The blog post that I found most interesting out of these was definitely post 4. I think that reading about the different platforms of online learning and different resources helps me to see how all of my classmates have found different ones helpful and important during their schooling years. I am excited to keep learning more about this and all the other lessons we still have ahead of us this semester.

  4. Hey Hayley! Great post! I agree with your opening sentence that if students are to be successful, the teachers need to be kept up with the latest technology trends and know what is going on. Having teachers attend seminars is a great idea for them to do. It will hold them accountable to staying up to date with things. Your power points also look great - good job on them!!
